Officials in western New York say that the round of tornadoes in Chautauqua and Allegany counties earlier this month caused more than $700,000 in overall property damage.

The tornadoes led to $760,300 in damages across three communities last week, likely leading to multiple homeowners insurance claims, officials with the Chautauqua County Office of Emergency Services told The Associated Press.

Wind damage was also reported in other areas. However, no injuries were reported due to the storms.

Despite the damage, officials told the Observer its unlikely that the area will receive any federal assistance to deal with the damages from the storm. However, they are waiting from further information from state officials about its full impact.

"We just don't have the big picture unfortunately in fiscal damage," Julius Leone, director of emergency services for Chautauqua County, told the paper. "Thank God nobody was seriously injured or God forbid someone would've lost a life."

Local officials told the paper they are also looking into whether business owners in the area could qualify for disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
